Glider Trailers Coming Out of Hangar
  There is work to be done!

The last snow melted away several weeks ago. The ground is still frozen 2 feet below the surface, but SPRING IS HERE!! Long white trailers are arriving. Towplane 4L is back on the field, and deep cumulus clouds are beckoning locals back into the air.

Bring work clothes to the opening weekend event. Marty Johnson will be the drill sergeant.

Here are the projects:

 
  1. Clean out dead wood and brush from roadside – 8man-hours
  2. Place old telephone poles to define parking lot – 6 man-hours
  3. Replace windsock at tower – 2 man-hours
  4. Vacuum dead cluster flies from 3rd stairs to roof – 1 man-hour
  5. Clean tower windows – 5 man-hours
  6. Install repaired wind speed and direction indicator –1 man-hour
  7. Bring picnic tables and grilles out of storage – 4 man-hours
  8. Clean grass around tie-downs – 3 man-hours
  9. Landscaping around tower entrance – 4 man-hours
  10. Landscaping under roadside sign – 3 man-hours
  11. Assemble, lubricate, and adjust the multi-reel mower – 3 man-hours


Here is the weekend schedule:

  Saturday, May 15  
    8:30 AM Breakfast at the tower.
10 AM -- Mandatory Safety briefing with Rick Hanson
11AM to 5 PM -- Glider assembly and cleanup projects
5:30 PM -- Social hour at the new John Egan’s Restaurant
6:00 PM -- Dinner at John Egan’s
  Sunday, May 16  
    Tower restaurant open for breakfast & Lunch
9:30AM – General Membership meeting
10 AM – Mandatory Safety briefing
11 AM Board of Directors meeting
Noon – lets go flying!!
